Welcome to the Wonderful World of Reading!

My name is Beth Strobel and I will be working with your child in the library this year.  I have taught for eighteen years focusing on middle school literature.  This has always been my favorite area. It is a rewarding sight to witness the joy in children when they find that one book that shows them the pure magic of reading!

Remember that you are the first adult in your child’s life to foster this positive attitude by reading to/with him/her whenever possible. Encourage your child to explore books!  Also try discussing books with your child:  What part was your favorite?  Did you like the way it ended?  Can you think of another ending you would have liked better?  There are countless ways to discuss a book with children that will help them recall the story and use their imagination!  We will also have some exciting opportunities for you to read with your child in the library this year. . . stay tuned for more information

Some specific library procedures:

Grades Kindergarten and 1st will check out one book.
Grade 2 will check out two books.
Grades 3-8 will check out three books.

*Books are due back on your child’s library day.  Please mark this day on your calendar and/or have your child mark it weekly in his/her assignment notebook to help foster responsibility.

As always, the library could use parent volunteers at ANY time!!  If you have just an hour or two a week to give, PLEASE let me know.  My email is bstrobel@sna-panthers.org.  What a great way to be a role model for your child and I promise you’ll have some fun with books also!

I am excited to share my enthusiasm for reading with your child this year!  Whether he/she has already developed a love of books or is just beginning on this journey. . . it will prove to be a great year for us all.

Thank you for your support,
Mrs. Beth Strobel
